Jedi Investigator:

Working as agents to the Jedi High Council, these individuals were highly certified to work with law enforcement agencies in tracking down criminals and uncovering hidden and obscure threats to the galaxy and the Galactic Republic. Appointed by the Council, Jedi investigators were charged with rooting out threats via their detective skills and Force abilities. While the presence of the Investigator within the Jedi Order had remained a relative constant, it wasn't until after the Ruusan Reformation that the role was clearly defined in The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force; the section on investigators was authored by the Jedi Seer Sabla-Mandibu.

Often times, the work of the investigators lead them to working completely independent of official agencies as they go deep undercover, infiltrating the organization under suspicion, and using guile, deception or even force in addition to detective skills to achieve their goal. Working from within, Jedi investigators were often successful in neutralizing the enemy before galactic conflict could arise. Jedi investigators would also spy on known criminal syndicates, pirate groups, assassin organizations as well as individual criminals and report their findings to the Council, which kept detailed record of most known criminals in the galaxy through their connection to the Galactic City Police's criminal archives. During the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Keelyvine Reus was a well known investigator amongst those in the Office of the Supreme Chancellor. As Jedi investigators grew old or step down from their intense assignments, many join the ranks of the Jedi Recruiters as members of the Acquisition Division, bringing Force-sensitive children to the Jedi Temple so that they can be trained in the ways of the Force, or solve criminal cases normal police forces are incapable of deciphering.

Lightsaber Training: One of the first things an Jedi Investigator must learn to do, if he wishes to survive, is fight with a Lightsaber, for his prey know the weapon well. At level five an Jedi Investigator gains a rank in the Lightsaber Form of his choice. If he isn’t trained to wield Lightsabers prior to entering the Jedi Investigator Advanced Path then he instead gains the ability to wield single-bladed Lightsabers and a rank in the Shii-Cho Lightsaber Form.

Resource Access: Funds are vital for the Jedi Investigator and even low ranking members have access to funds to use towards their mission. Gained at level six, gains the ability to, once per mission, call on various channels, both legal and illegal, for monetary aid. He gains a number of credits equal to his presence stat times fifty.
Mission of Love: An Jedi Investigators’s purpose is, first and foremost, to hunt down Sith in a attempt to “change their mind” converting them to the jedi. Starting at level seven the Jedi Investigator does one and a half times damage against Force Users hostile to the Jedi Order in combat and is considered a rank higher in the Intimidate Skill when using it against them.

Authority: The Jedi Investigation Bureau has a well-deserved reputation and its agents know how to use it to their advantage. An Investigator can use the Diplomacy and Intimidate Skills simultaneously against Non-Force Sensitives who owe their allegiance even if it’s a halfhearted one to the New Jedi Order. The target must know the JEdi Investigator to be a member of the Investigation Bureau for this ability to work.

Campaign of Peace: At level nine the Jedi Investigator’s damage bonus increases to twice normal damage and his Intimidate bonus increases to two ranks.

Master Interrogator: As their name implies, Investigators are experts at extracting information. When conducting a formal Interrogation they receive a one rank bonus to their Intimidate Skill. If conducting a interrogation session designed to extract information this bonus increases to two ranks. This stacks with an Investigator’s other Intimidate bonus.

War of Compassion: At level eleven an Investigator’s damage bonus increases to two and a half times normal damage and their Intimidate bonus increases to three ranks.

Peaceful Persuasion: At level twelve the Investigator's knowledge of 'strenuous persuasion' flowers into its full potential. Once per Mission an Investigator may bring a victim under his influence. To do so the Investigator must be performing a formal interrogation session. If the total of the Jedi Investigators Presence Stat plus his Intimidate Ranks is greater than his victim's Presence (and the person running the Mission approves) then the victim is brought under the Jedi Investigator's control. This minion is temporary and does not carry over into future Missions. Furthermore, those with the Iron Will Perk are immune to this effect.

Mandate of Light: At thirteenth level the Invesigator’s damage bonus increases to three times normal damage and his Intimidate bonus increases to four ranks.

Cleansing: One of the most extraordinary powers granted to the Jedi Invesigators is the right to call for a Cleansing. An Cleansing is, simply put, the mass conversion of a species under the influence of a specific group that an Jedi Investigator believes has fallen under the sway of the Sith. An Cleansing must be targeted at a specific group (farmers, smugglers, Rodians, permanent residents of the planet in question, etc.). Once an Cleansing is declared the Jedi military shows up as soon as possible to carry out the order and make everyone ready for conversion. An Cleansing can only be declared on a planet controlled by the Jedi and can be cancelled before it begins by a higher level Jedi Investigator or the Jedi Grandmaster. This ability is gained at fourteenth level and can only be used once per mission.
